Little Salt Spring in North Port FL is an outstanding cultural and natural resource listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The spring and surrounding pristine 112 acres serve as a time capsule about Florida’s early human habitation and paleo-environment from the Paleoindian Period (12,000-9,000 BP) through the Middle Archaic Period (6,000-4,000 BP), and into the Woodland Period (2,500-1,000 BP).
